I need a vegan belt that is completely nickel free for my daughter's stocking this year. She wants it to be 'not boring' but also wants it to be her every day belt. Her waist size is 21 inches. We need it to BUCKLE, not tie. We dislike the double ring style belts, as they tend to work loose as they are worn, needing to be constantly tightened. The belt needs to *function* very well. I'm completely open to materials, as long as they are both vegan and nickel free. I'm pretty open to colours and patters, as long as they are not pink or girlie. She's 11, but not into pop culture at all, she's not a 'tom boy' but also loathes 'girlie' things. She's into geeky pursuits, loves books like Pride and Prejudice and Uncle Tom's Cabin, into roller derby, science, indie music, and manga, just to give you some idea of what she might consider 'not boring'. Reusing is very important to her, and to our family, so if you have things you can recycle/upcycle to make this, that would be ideal.
