Volunteer Arabic-English transcription & translation for documentary on a refugee girl in Lebanon
Calling all socially-minded Arabic speakers! The Global Lives Project is a non profit collaboration of volunteer filmmakers, photographers, architects, artists, programmers, designers, and everyday people from across the globe. The Project in Lebanon focuses on 9 year old Jamila Jad, a Palestinian refugee girl who was born in and still lives in the Shatila Refugee Camp in southern Beirut. Jamila’s life will be shared with people worldwide through a unique video installation and a dynamic online video library. Global Lives Project Lebanon is currently looking for transcription (Arabic-Arabic) and translation volunteers (Arabic-English). Anyone who transcribes and translates 15 minutes of footage or more will have their name in the credits of our installation, on our website and on the DVD. All work is done online.
