Component Tracker
I need to track the use of third-party components across releases of a software product that consists of several individual packages. Each package has its own set of third-party components. Different versions of the same package may have slightly different sets of third-party components they are built on top of. Each release is a combination of packages of their respective versions. I need a tool that would help me track an exhaustive list of third-party components (name, version, license type, URL, memo, etc) in each release. I need something more convenient than an Excel table I am populating manually. I would be Ok with an MS Access based solution or something web-based with SQL (MySQL, PostgrSQL, etc). Resulting source code should be readable, maintainable, and extendable by a qualified follower.
