12/21 NOTE - MINOR CLARIFICATIONS ADDED OBJECTIVE Create website interface and associated programming to record audio from a browser/microphone and place the audio files in a directory on the same server that contains the the various program files (flash application, Java Script, or other) FILES and APPROACH LANGUAGE FOR SERVER PROGRAMMING. The programmer should provide a view to the best approach for programming the application (e.g., JAVA Script, Flash, etc.). CONFIGURATION FILE AND DATA This data needs to be stored for the program to utilize upon startup. It is assumed there will be some sort of configuration file that will need to be generated and saved when the program is started or stopped. AUDIO FILE MP3 Audio files need be generated from the program and stored in a specified directory. DATA FILE PARAMETERS The Data File is a file with the various data records that may contain text or audio. ADMINISTRATIVE CONSIDERATIONS The webpage should access protected directories with the files, but the user should only have access to the files through the web interface login. The login information needs to be maintained by the administrator (e.g., me). This should be done through standard Web server administrative password access and control (unless there is a better way to do it, for which I would be open to comments and ideas). PROGRAM OPERATION The program will require logging into a website using credentials provided by the administrator. There, the web interface can show the files as well as allow recording, rerecording, or deleting of files. Additionally, text information for each record will be able to be entered and saved.
