RSS Aggregator
We require an RSS aggregator that collects feeds from other sites and combines them based on a category and subcategory. There is an admin screen that defines the RSS feeds, the websites and the blogs. There are 2 scripts that feed off the aggregated data. Each RSS item in the database should have a unique number. Script 1 - Creates a random RSS feed for a specific site based on the category and subcategory. (if either one are not provided then the feed is randomly chosen from the database. We would then paste some javascipt in the receiving site to get the RSS feed. For example: The hash would be some random string that would be in the database so the script could not be guessed for other sites. The script would be run by a cron job and would add new feed data to an existing feed in the websitefeed table. As new entries are created the older ones would drop off. The size of the feed is defined by the feedsize value in the website table. Script 2 - Posts a maximum of n entries (a random number between 0 and N) to a wordpress blog based on a category and subcategory using the xmlrpc capabilities of wordpress. The posts should not be duplicates. The script should check the logfile to make sure that the post has not be posted already. A maintenance script that runs every month clears out all the entries in the system from the previous 2 months. Note: Everything should be logged in the log files for tracking and debugging. Before you respond to this ad, please make sure you: 1) have prior rss experience NOT using framework base code like Zend and CakePHP 2) have the free time to complete this project in the next 10 days 3) speak fluent english Heavy Object Oriented Framework (Zend, CakePHP) can NOT be used. The coding needs to be focused on efficiency. You have to consider that the feeds need to be refreshed from time to time, so you need to develop a mechanism that doesn't stress the server when doing this (eventually we may end using 200-300 feeds) - maybe refreshing different feeds at different time intervals.
