Provide a creative service - Logo for New College Financial Club
Business Name Western Forex Association What do you do? We are a student club at the University of Western Ontario. Our primary purpose is to educate undergraduate students about everything to do with Forex. Through regular meetings, seminars, guest speakers, contests, etc, we hope to spark a deep interest in the world of Forex and to get students genuinely interested and involved with the club. What is Forex?: Forex, standing for ‘Foreign Exchange Market,’ is the largest financial market in the world. It is similar to the more commonly known stock market, but instead of shares of a company being bought and sold, currencies are traded against each other. It is used largely by countries, banks, and companies, but individual investors can and often trade via speculation, hoping to make money in a similar manner to the stock market’s day traders. What is the exact name you would like in your logo? Western Forex Association What is your industry? Financial Education Describe the target audience for your logo The primary audience is the ~30 000 undergraduate students at UWO. However, our logo will also be used to attract businesses, sponsorships, and guest speakers. What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo? We want a logo that shows that we are different and truly a step beyond your average run-of-the-mill student club. We want to convey that this is a club that is run passionately and professionally throughout every single aspect. What logo styles do you like (text only, image only, text and image, etc.)? We want a logo that is a combination of an image and text. The image will preferably be a clever design based on the acronym of the club (WFA)...some sort of letter bending or as you see fit. The idea is to have a logo that looks like it was tailor made for the WFA..not a random picture of a cube. The text part will say 'Western Forex Association' in whichever (nice) manner you choose. We will often use the image+text together in any branding we do, but it is important that each of them could be used separately, and would be recognizable and not look like they're lacking something. What colors do you want to see in your logo? The color combination is completely up to you. We would, however, like it to be limited to 2-3 colors. It is up to you, but if you could use the UWO (school)'s purple as one of the colors, if the right sort of branding is still conveyed...that we are part of the school, yet a separate, distinct club. The schools design standards can be found here: http://communications.uwo.ca/comms/graphic_stan... It is important to note that whichever colors are chosen, alongside with the logo, will be used in every single media/marketing effort we have: in shirts, letterheads, business cards, etc. What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo? No colors are banned...though perhaps nothing too 'out-there' like neon pink. Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)? The logo (and accompanying colors chosen) will be used practically everywhere. We can guarantee that they will be used in the following of places: website, business cards, letterheads, emails, pens, memo padslarge posters/banners, t-shirts, hats, phone cases, and wristbands. Do you have other info or links you want to share? Being a completely new club, with no previous designs to work on, or even any color preferences, we're leaving everything up to you. We just ask that you design a strong, vibrant and modern logo that conveys the club's desire to be above and beyond in quality, as seen in the ingenuity in design of the logo itself. We do ask that the logo's 'pull' not be based on web 2.0 effects like reflections and lens flares, as these will not appear nicely on the shirts, pens, and other physical media we will brand. If there are any questions at all, please don't hesitate to ask, and we will strive to provide prompt and detailed feedback to all responses. Thank you! Update 7-Aug-10, 9:18p.m. GMT Hi everyone! Firstly, just thanks for each of your designs, we are really trying hard to spend time on each design to give each their fair feedback and rating they deserve. Below are a few points for everyone we'd like everyone to consider... 1) Please don't use purple as the primary color for the logo. While we are related to our school (UWO)...we want our color scheme to serve to differentiate us from the school as a separate, distinct (albeit slightly related) entity. 2) Please no logos which blend the WF in such a way to look almost precisely as the very famous WWF logo (http://imgur.com/DofBM.gif) 3) If you want an even more detailed look into what we're looking for..take a look at some of the designs that have been rated higher... 4) We are very conservative with our ratings, so don't take offence if you are lowly rated, only fair criticism...We are really holding back from handing out any 4-5 stars, unless any designs just grab us and don't let go.. 5) For relevant pictures, you can google "forex" "fx" "finance" "currency" "trading" "day trading" "financial charts" "candlesticks" ...images of student bodies work as well, but much more rarely. Using financial charts, candlesticks, things like that are clever, and if well executed, can be perfect. Got an idea ready? Participate now » Keywords: logo
