I customized SocialEngine by porting the Yahoo Autocomplete API into the Admin Profile fields so that I could take advantage of sophisticated autocomplete for any field. I implemented it using the existing Yahoo GUI Configurator which allows you to make various format/settings changes via inputs rather then code. I also modified it so that I could specify which tables/fields in the db to query to populate with (as opposed to the existing SE autocomplete where you just type the values into a box in the asset) I made additional customization to it based on published cache/query process that is (ostensibly) very fast/secure. In any event I need further customization which breaks down in the roughly to: Add some rules to the existing delimiter function (choose multuple values) to create the ability to concatenate instead. Pretty much the same ruleset except it doesn't add delimit values Assess the currernt client side caching to see if we can either encrypy/decrypt there or move to server side caching with improved performance. Create a server-side script that will push user selections to the script and then re-sort the cached tables based on those. Please be experienced with Social Engine and preferably autocomplete query/optimization/db etc so that there is no learning curve in those regards.
