PHP Application Developer (2 Openings)
Seeking two intelligent motivated full time (40+ hr./wk. each) web application developers to develop an online tasklist. - Do not apply if you are only a designer/slicer, and have no experience developing web applications. We are looking for solid web APPLICATION developers, not designers. - Do not apply if you cannot work 40 hours per week for the next 3 months. Essential Skills - PHP - MySQL - jQuery - Experience with AJAX development techniques - CSS - Eclipse or other IDE (Dream Weaver users accepted, but will be required to switch to Eclipse if Dream Weaver appears to be slowing them down.) - Familiarity with MVC architecture - Paranoid attention to security Useful but Optional Skills (having these skills is a big plus) - Zend Framework (familiarity with naming conventions and basic structure only) - Familiarity with CodeIgniter, Cake PHP, or other MVC frameworks is acceptable - Cassandra (optional, but helpful) - Familiarity with SVN or GIT Successful applicants will work as part of a larger development team. project will be managed using a modified Scrum cycle, so familiarity with agile development is a plus. We want intelligent programmers who demonstrate drive and initiative. We will hire you for your skills, not your degree. Please provide a sample of your work with your cover letter. Ideas for samples: - Have you written your own CMS or MVC framework? - Have you developed any extensions for a popular open source platform, such as WordPress, Magento, or Zend Framework? - Are you a regular contributor to any PHP based open source project? - Do you have a personal web site built using Code Igniter, Cake PHP, or Zend Framework? (WordPress sites and similar are NOT acceptable samples, unless used to show an extension that you wrote.) - Have you published any code? (for example, on SourceForge, Google Code, or PHPClasses?) Work sample should ideally include at least 100 lines of your own code, and a link to a location where we can see your work in action. Project is an online tasklist application, and will be developed collaboratively with other programmers. Full spec for the project will be provided after the job starts. You will be expected to work full time (40 hours per week), but you may work whatever schedule is best for you (so long as you are available for scrum meetings.)
