This project should be written in a dissertation form which is about 50 - 60 pages that should be on LaTex file The write up should be about classical or Chevalley groups. If you could get a copy of Roger Carter's book "Simple groups of Lie type" , then this might be a good thing to look at (especially the first, fourth and sixth chapters on classical and Chevalley groups The main idea is to write on subgroups of Chevalley groups generated by X_alpha and X_{-alpha}, giving examples; to describe the Sylow p-subgroups of some Chevalley groups using the generators and relations as in Carter's book. Please, find the attachments two pages notes about the project steps and the project outline.
