Until we started trying, this question really never bothered me - now that we ARE trying, and so far not succeeding, I'm finding myself getting pretty emotional/sensitive (maybe overly so) when people ask "oh, why no kids?" Some people are "nice" about it and accept my usual "oh we just don't" replies (or "we haven't gotten around to it" etc.). Others seem to press the issue - hard. "But I don't understand. Is something wrong with you?" My eyes nearly bugged out at that one, and it came from a so-called casual "friend." How can I respond when people press that hard? Should I? Or should I just stop being nice and let them know they've stepped over the line? Keywords: parenting
