I am looking for a PHP developer to create a script that will pull RDF data from specific websites and store this information in a MySQL table. Preferably this script will be written in PHP and use ARC's php classes for RDF. Most of the sites specifically use Microformats. One solution I came up with would be to use Sphider to crawl the websites and then add a mod to pull the RDF information if the page matched the correct criteria. The sites that need to be spidered are yelp.ca and urbanspoon.com. More sites may be added later. The script will need to crawl the website following links and only grab restaurant listing data and then use that to update the database with specific information. The script will also need to periodically check the database table and reload data that has expired after it has aged x number of days. You can view the information that needs to be pulled using Google's rich snippet testing tool: http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets Enter a specific restaurant url into the tool above such as: http://www.yelp.ca/biz/vijs-restaurant-vancouver This will give you an example of microformat data available.
