My little sister is in nursing school and soon she'll be going into clinicals and working with patients. She is self-consious about her chronically cold hands (because of a circulation problem combined with lupus) and doesn't want to scare people with purple hands in those cold hospitals. What I am hoping for is a way to have a pocket(s) with cloth-covered battery-operated or rechargeable electric hand warmers incorporated within the scrubs top. I would like them to be removable and not just a hand-held heating device sitting in a pocket (which can get clunky or lost). These may be incorporated by snaps, buttons or some other dependable securing device (I guess I'm thinking velcro might not be resilient enough). I got this idea when my mom found a batter-operated heated fleece jacket that was surprisingly comfortable and cute. I would also like a way to insulate the heat so it doesn't overheat her stomach and is confined to just the pockets. The pockets can be combined into one kangaroo pocket or be separated with a warmer in each. I suspect that some alterations to the scrubs top will be necessary to receive what I am requesting, but there may be ways to attached the heaters with simple button holes or something similar.
