Text Editor Built in HTML, CSS, and Javascript
We are using the HTML5 canvas to manipulate photos. Now we need a text editor built using HTML, CSS, and Javascript so we can apply text over the images on the canvas as well. * This text editor needs to be built using html, css, and javascript so it will work with our HTML5 canvas * 15 Different fonts (including Times New Roman, Arial, Verdana, and Monotype Corsiva) (We also need other fancy fonts like: Snell Roundhand, Lucida Calligraphy, Lucida Handwritting, Brush Script Std, and others that are fancy) o Apply different fonts to different text (words) on the same line * Different font sizes from 6 to 100 that can be changed with a drag bar and visually see the text change real time. o Apply different font sizes to different text (words) on the same line * Bold, italics, and underline o Apply to different text (words) on the same line * Dot leaders o If user puts in 4 or more dots (....) then automatically fill the rest of the line with dots in real time. This will then allow the user to easily insert the name etc. This will make it look like there is left and right alignment. * Text boxes should be invisible unless clicked on * Line up text all the way to the left and right of the text box o It’s important to have the words line up on the right after dot leaders are applied * Left, right, center, and justified alignment. o Left align and right align on same text line + May have to do something like the dot leaders suggestion above... (if more than 4 spaces, then add in a bunch of space so it looks right aligned) * Be able to tab for an indent * Be able to adjust text line height (Line Spacing) * Apply and adjust a shadow to all text * Allow users to save their text layouts to their account so they can quickly apply a text layout and edit it. * Be able to copy and past text from another location - doesn’t have to keep formatting * Be able to create columns easily * Adjustable spacing between letters (Letter Spacing) * Be able to rotate the text box * The text tool bar should appear when the test is clicked on (floating at the top of the text box). Otherwise the tool bar should disappear when clicked off of text box. * References o http://slides.html5rocks.com/#slide31 + Slide 31 - 40 o http://www.apple.com/html5/showcase/typography/ Who is up for the challenge? How long will it take and how much will it cost? Keywords: Javascript, HTML, CSS
