1.SUMMARY Streetfash (http://www.melbournestreetfashion.com) is a social media marketing and blog publishing business targeting the Australian fashion industry. Streetfash is a startup Small Medium Enterprise (SME) with no employees, 5-10 contractors and no existing accounts procedures. As Accountant & Bookkeeper, you will provide all bookkeeping and accounting services required of an Australian SME. You will be responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, bookkeeping, tax and compliance. You will also be required to create and implement appropriate accounts procedures in consultation with the business owner. You are a qualified accountant and member of a recognised Australian or overseas professional accounting body with experience servicing SMEs operating in Australia. You understand the importance of accounts procedures, and the unique accounting requirements of small business. 2.ROLE As Accountant & Bookkeeper you will manage all account and bookkeeping services. You will be required to: Accounting -advise the business owner regarding accounting and operational procedures, Australian taxation compliance and business entities; -implement accounting and operational procedures in consultation with the business owner; and -report and forecast as required by the business owner. Bookkeeping -maintain appropriate accounts, including accounts receivable and accounts payable; and -use Saasu online accounting software and Business Catalyst online business software. 3.YOU & YOUR QUALIFICATIONS You are a qualified accountant and a member of a recognised Australian or overseas professional accounting body, such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia, CPA Australia or the National Institute of Accountants. You will have a degree in commerce, accounting or a related field. You have 3-5 years previous experience advising SMEs in Australia and providing bookkeeping services. Preferably, you will have experience using Saasu online accounting software. You must be organised and be able to work independently and to deadlines. You must capable of working in a small team, committed to working for Streetfash and have good English language skills. 4.DETAILS Initially, you will update and reconcile our accounts to-date.
