Sensor Network Map Display Application We are developing a Wireless Sensor Network application that collects environmental data from various sensor nodes. The data collected will then be displayed onto a map, and users can get warning if some of the parameters are out-of-range. You are required to write a cross-platform application that connects to the Serial Port of a PC running on Windows Vista (32bit) or Linux (CentOS 5.4). The application will receive ASCII data from the RS232 Serial Port of the PC and plot �Placemarks� and display location data onto map applications like Google Map, Google Earth or Open Street Map, using a KML file. Project Highlights: Host Operating System: Windows Vista or later versions AND CentOS 5.4 Programming Language: Python 2.7.x I/O: Virtual RS232 Serial port provided by FT232R FTDI Virtual Comport Convertor Chip Database: MySQL 5.0+ Community Version The Application is divided into a few parts: 1.
