I have written a program using VB6 that does simple calculation based on data received from DDE Server running on the same PC. I need to modify it and create a centralized server obtaining the same data through DDE or other API and place this data in an SQL server (MSSQL or MySql). DDE Server function in my program in a nutshell is that I create a TextBox in VB6 and link it with an external program. I call the value and then record it in an array, that's the extend of the complexity. Then I need the client program, which is similar to my VB6 program, that will get its data from my server via Internet. Client will need to register, email address must be unique. Registration will first pass through my online list management program, Aweber, and then registration will be complete and an unique password will be issued so that one email address should work with one account. This Client/Server must be very robust. I would expect no less than 5000 to 25000 connections eventually, since this software is to be offered free of charge. I have a cloud hosting setup therefore bandwidth and powerful server is not a problem. The client will need to have a few features, it needs to display worldtime in a line-graph and moves in real time. It also need to have a ticker that I can control what goes there. If the client clicks on the ticker, it will open a hyperlink of that item. I should also be able to emphasize on items in the ticker by manipulating font, color, etc... I need to also be able to schedule items in the ticker so that I can plan things ahead. As far as the program display, I need it to be able to sound alarm based on client selection. There are 8 different items with values from 0.0 to 9.0. Alarm should be flexible such as if item 1 is less than 2.0 and item 7 is less than 2.0, then sound this alarm. Allow client to choose his own sound and give them some sample sounds. Once again, if the client wants to sound alarm when item 1,2,3 is above 8, then it needs to have that flexibility... I will also need to look at past data and create a medium reading for the past 96 hours and display this reading on the website. I guess this reading will need to be done in an xml and update every 60 seconds so that my other server, running Apache and PHP, could get it and display on the website. I am open to suggestions how you like this to be done. Then comes the facebook application with Twitter integration. I want to be able to issue alerts and post them on my facebook fan page. This alert will be created when the numbers form a certain pattern, of which I am going to specify. This alert will only be posted on my facebook fan page and then twitter to my Twitter account. Of course we need to keep track of the alerts and the results of them... The facebook application will display what my client program displays, minus the worldtime and rss feed. But it will have the alerts. People will need to become my fans first before having access to this application. Alerts should also provide audible sound. Last but not least, I need this program to work with an ad server or banner ad serving service. I am planning to sell ads on my program, since it is offered for free, and I need to be able to display ads in text, image, and possibly in flash, right in an area inside of the client software. I will provide the mock-up for the client software. I have several ad servers in mind, but if you know other services, I am open to suggestions. I will rotate one ad per each 5 minutes interval, in a non intrusive way. We can discuss how to achieve this. Please do not bid unless you think you can pull it off.
