The actual database is in MS Access but a MySQL database should be used. Data Files (ex. scan documents) must be stored via ftp on the server and cached on the clients when requested. The language must be VB.Net or C#. The code must be quite clear to understand and with a minimum of comments. There's no need of a standalone version, everything must work in a server->client environment. The most important parts are those features that are not in the base applcation: - Multiple languages switchable Interface. English and Italian as base languages. - XML API output via simple web server, integrated in the application (server) or with external apache+anylanguage that interacts with the database. - sticky notes on the desktop of the client (data retrieved from the database each amount of seconds) with the support for multiple users. Any users can send a sticky note to the desktop of other collaborators. Interaction with the API is preferred. - Windows mobile support for data synchronization of the appointments. Interaction with the API is preferred. - Iphone (xtools) support (for data synchronization of the appointments. Interaction with the API is preferred. - Emails retrieval and management for each internal user. Possibility to link specific received emails to contacts, jobs, appointments. Support for outgoing emails with attachments. Authentications that must be supported: active directory/Windows, Cram MD5, Pop before smtp, SMTP Auth. SSL/TSL support with certificates configuration. Digital Signatures (multiple) for each user with keyring and easy to use informations that can be retrieved from the Accounts management (see below). Incoming spam filters, emails themes can be an extra (paid) but are not mandatory. - Automatic outgoing emails on appointments, deadlines, etc. They all need to be configurable as options. SMS sending could be and extra. - Documents scans via WIA/TWAIN. A devices management is mandatory. Oion to convert the scans to the pdf format(all images). Possibility to link specific emails to contacts, jobs, appointments. Digital signing for the documents. - Internal passwords, accounts (of external websites or anything else), digital signatures keys management for each single user and possibility to share the accounts/keys with other users/groups. Data must be encrypted within the db with a decent encryption method(suggestions are welcome). - A caching system on the clients that reduces the network activity for the sql queries and files retrieval if the remote data haven’t changed. There's no need of a particular user interface, functionality is the first objective. Please send a mockup of the application (ex. the base application clone) or of one of your previous works.
