Frontend Web Developer   Employment Type:         2-3 month contract Location:  Our consultants work from their home offices!  We are a remote organization, with a formal office location in Santa Clara, CA and Toronto.  Travel:  No travel required Technical Skills Required: -In-depth knowledge of usability, semantic web design and web graphics -Expert knowledge in the following languages: CSS (2 & 3), HTML (4 & 5), and JavaScript (with specific regard to jQuery and plugins) -Expert knowledge of the following programs: Adobe PhotoShop or Fireworks, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver (or any other type of IDE such as eclipse or RAD) -Must be knowledgeable in the following concepts: CSS Sprites, AJAX, JavaScript efficiency, file compression for web development, and image optimization for web development -Must be a frequent reader / follower of web development and usability blogs, as the techniques change frequently. -The ability to create a mockup, splice the mockup into HTML / CSS, and implement into an environment -Knowledge or experience in the following developer areas: Java, Object-oriented programming concepts, MVC concepts, SQL, Struts, Tiles, and proper database use -In-depth knowledge of e-commerce platforms (specifically WebSphere Commerce) a definite plus; certifications for proficiency in these a plus -Knowledge and ability to take HTML and CSS and then implement it into RAD (specifically WebSphere Commerce); demonstrable ability to work inside an actual developer toolkit Professional Skills: Strong verbal and written communication Strong organizational and task management skills Positive attitude and passionate Customer focused Ability to make decisions quickly and implement Must be a self-starter, very organized and able to work independently as well as in small groups, including customer technical and business employees.
