This is a 10+ month project with an SD3 client located in Chicago with probable extensions and career opportunities . This position will provide technical thought leadership, and is accountable to define, maintain, communicate, implement and execute the enterprise architecture, solution engineering, standards and strategy and for its operational usage across the enterprise for technologies in scope. The technologies within the scope of this position include the full range of Infrastructure Services architectures and technologies including but not limited to distributed messaging, email, active directory, middleware, application integration, information integration, web services, collaboration, unified communications, knowledge and content management, systems management and related operating system and supporting technologies. This position will report to the Architecture, Engineering & Planning leader and provide guidance to a virtual team of engineers operating in this technical area .   Key Responsibilities Accountable to plan, engineer, design, implement and manage infrastructure services infrastructure and responsible for oversight of configuration, maintenance and capacity planning for technologies in scope. Accountable to execute project engineering and solution processes and functions for technologies in scope. Responsible for service and project delivery. Accountable to define, maintain, communicate, implement and execute the enterprise architecture, engineering and standards strategy and for its operational usage across the enterprise for technologies in scope. Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with strategic partners from within IT Service Management, Business Partner Manager, Project Portfolio Management, and Application Operations as well as all external outsourced IT infrastructure service providers. Define, communicate and implement the standards used by business applications for the technologies in scope. Understand, formulate and present the cost and business benefit of the use of the technologies in scope and constantly drive productivity improvements and reductions in TCO.   Key Requirements Must possess a Bachelor degree or 5 - 10 years of relevant IT architecture and engineering experience. Industry certifications: MCSE, MCA - Infrastructure Deep and broad knowledge of full range of distributed messaging, email, active directory, middleware, application integration, web services, collaboration, unified communications, knowledge and content management, systems management and related operating system and supporting hardware and software technologies, architectural patterns, design standards and options. Deep Technical knowledge of infrastructure services systems management tools. Deep Technical knowledge of commonly used hardware and software products. Possesses strong knowledge of vendor community for full range of infrastructure services architectures including but not limited to distributed messaging, email, active directory, middleware, application integration, web services, collaboration, unified communications, knowledge and content management, systems management and related operating system and supporting technologies. Deep and broad knowledge and experience in the capabilities and use of the technologies in scope. At least 5 -10 years of experience in selecting, design engineering, solution engineering, project engineering, integrating and implementing infrastructure services architecture and related technologies. Demonstrated effective decision making that had significant impact on technology direction and related business results. Strong background and understanding of the technical direction in this space and the prevailing standards. Ability to explain complex technical detail and tradeoffs to non-technical associates. Ability to mentor and develop other engineers and architects. Excellent communication skills including the ability to present complex presentations to large audiences. Ability to facilitate and conduct crucial conversations when stakes are high, emotions are strong and opinions vary that result in win/win solutions and while doing so fostering communication by encouraging open, honest two-way communication. Expert knowledge of distributed messaging, email (Microsoft Exchange 2010, Blackberry BES), active directory  (Win2008, DNS, LDAP), middleware, application integration, web services, web (IBM WebSphere) applications and portals, collaboration (SharePoint 2010), flow processing (K2), unified communications (MS Lync, Avaya, Polycom), knowledge and content management, systems management (MS SCCM, MOM, Remedy) and related operating system and supporting architectures. Must have excellent architecture, design, configuration, implementation, operations support and troubleshooting skills with MS Exchange 2010, Active Directory 2008, Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES), Microsoft Internet Security, Email SPAM Filtering (Websense), Web Content Filtering (Websense), Antivirus (MS ForeFront, Symantec), MS SharePoint 2010, MS Win2008, MS Lync 2010, WebSphere, Web Servers. Must have excellent architecture, design, operations support and troubleshooting skills (focus on systems integration and on the construction of messaging and middleware tools and frameworks to assist with systems, applications and data integration). Must have a broad understanding and knowledge of enterprise architecture with user interface, solutions delivery, integration, data management, application and security technologies and best practices. Knowledge and understanding of architecture, design, operations support and troubleshooting (DNS, WINS, DHCP, IP addressing, TIM/TAM, LDAP authentication, internet hosting and secure remote access. Expert knowledge using Microsoft office professional and Visio tools.
