Hello to all new Elance providers that might be struggling to get hired... I would like to chat with anyone, with any talent, to see if you would be a good addition to my Elance Team. FYI - I have discussed this with Elance Support and this type of posting does not go against Elances' TOS since all work would be through Elance. When I first started, the toughest thing was to get hired for jobs at the rate I thought I was worth. I had to drop my rate so low just to build my track record of jobs and ratings which made it very tough. Over time, I've built a great track record of performance which prospects are looking for. If you're looking for Elance work but can't get in the door, I hope you will consider sending me your resume, background, your area of expertise and the rates you'd like to get. Together, with your skills and my track record on Elance, you may have a better chance of being hired if I place the bids under my company rather than you doing it on your own. I can simply add you to my team, place the bid on your behalf, and if selected assign the work to you to complete and be paid. You can even send to me the jobs you'd be interested in performing with a "proposal" and we can see if we can make it work. However, I will not consider Elance providers who, over time, have developed a poor review record who just wants to get around it. Being a part of my team comes with an expectation of 5-star performance to all clients. By adding you to my team and assigning jobs, the rating you receive will reflect directly on the entire team - so we must find talented people with a great work ethic that will do every job right and earn a 5-star rating! Also, at this time I will only be considering US and Canadian providers. The vast majority of positions that require sales ask for US or Canadian providers only. In addition, time zone differentials with overseas providers is inherently difficult and I will be avoiding that for the time being - although that may be expanded in the future. Native English speakers with little to no accents are what providers often demand, so that's what I'm looking for. Of course, with marketing, SEO, graphic design...things that don't require a lot of direct client contact...accents don't make much of a difference but the time-zone issues are still important. Right now, I am only working in the Sales & Marketing Category. In the near future, I would like to add categories to give everyone a chance. If you're interested in finding Elance work but need some help in getting selected, let's talk and see if we can get more work headed your way. In your proposal, please provide: - Areas of expertise - Available hours - Desired rate (please put a range in the write up) for Hourly based work or what you would be willing to do for Fixed Rate Projects (but you don't have to be extremely detailed). - If you have a resume to attach, that would be helpful as well. - To prove that you've read this posting, the first word in your proposal should be "TEAM". If things look good, we can talk in more detail and hopefully move forward with landing more Elance work. I will respond through Elance's message system to share contact info if things look promising.
