Redevelopment of British Hip Society Website
Over the past few years most Orthopaedic Societies have developed their websites to communicate with their membership, provide a portal for administering membership and meetings, provide a forum for discussion and share information through a growing range of communication media. The current British Hip Society (BHS) website lacks some of the functionality now provided by similar organisations and it is proposed that a website redesign and maintenance contract be offered for tender to companies and contractors specializing in this field. The invitation is for proposals to redesign, maintain, and host the British Hip Society (BHS) website ( /co.uk/net/org/org.uk etc). Each submitted proposal should address website structure and function plans with costs in #Sterling. It is requested that the cost structure be divided into 3 parts: (1) website core redesign and build-out within 30 days of proposal acceptance, (2) website monthly and annual maintenance, and (3) special feature add-ons to website that may enhance future user experience. Proposals should be submitted in an Executive Summary (.doc) memo format of 1-3 pages with embedded hyperlinks as desired by 28th February 2012. Hyperlinks may be used to display examples of web-based content or samples of website developer's work that represents the final web site product. The Executive Summaries will be circulated to the officers of the BHS for evaluation, review and request for any additional information, as requested. The preferred webhosting platform will be selected by 16th March 2012. The goal of the website redesign and future maintenance is to enable the BHS to grow as a national specialist society, maintain effective communications, and deliver significant value to its membership. The website redesign should provide scheduled and automated functionality to enhance operational capabilities of the officers and the Society at large. The language will be UK English.
