Java standalone application development - Java
Description: A standalone application that can be installed on any computer (Windows / Linux / Mac). The GUI has 4 screens where data is to be inputted and stored on a local database. In one of the screens the software connects to a scanner and scans an image and stores it on a hard drive, giving the user the option to select where to store it. This will require interfacing with Java scanner library such as JTwain. The final screen stores all the information and the database, does validation checking and transmits data via FTP/ some other secure mechanism to an online site. The site does not have to be designed, as it will be provided. Preferable Candidates: People with good knowledge of JAVA and interfacing with other libraries. People who use Eclipse preferably as their environment, so that SWT or JFace can be leveraged. Project Requirements: Candidates will have to comply with project management requirements, such as attending meetings, incremental features have to be demoed, time sheets have to be logged. If you are subcontracting this work out, we would like to have control over the process to comply with project management guidelines. You have to come up with your own milestones, but each milestone has to be demo able and descriptive. Code has to be commented in English in a very well readable manner. It would be great if someone can use test cases. Desired Skills: Java Keywords: Software Application, Java
