Sunrise Marketing Group VB program (mail merge)
I have a program that I sell which the customer can download from my website, however it is a little out of date and I was wondering if you could help me to update it to work with the latest realeases of Office? The program was written in VB 6 code orginally in 1998 but has been updated a few times up till about 2004. It's basically a VB front end that uses an Access database to perfom a mail merge with Microsoft Word. Basically I send our customers a file everyday in the format of a .lst. They take that file and download it onto their computer in a certain folder so that when they open up the program it imports it into an Access database. They are then able to click on a name which performs the merge with Word onto one of our various promotion templates. When the program was created it was done with Word 2000 and has worked on every update of Office so far except the latest Office 2007. What happens is the mail merge fails. We had been able to solve the problem by sending Word 2000 which just stayed in the background and only ran when they program was being used. However with the new Microsoft Office 2007 we can not do this anymore. I was told I need the latest Library Object References or something added to my VB code? Does that sound right? Anyway I do have a print out of the Code that was used to create this program for reference. Unfortunately I don't have the code in electronic format, is there any way to use the executable file to extract the code? There is also an issue with the new operating systems that when we try and download the program it is putting it in the ProgramFiles(X86) directory instead of the Program Files directory. This is obviously causing some other issues when trying to print. I know this sounds like a lot of stuff, any help would be greatly appreciated!
