We are looking for a mid- to senior-level backend PHP developer to help us create the next generation of emarketing products, aid in the implementation of projects for customers, and work on internal software to improve business processes. The role covers the following areas: - building backend interfaces and applications using PHP 5 - interfacing with SQL databases and third party APIs - helping to create rich, interactive experiences across digital channels Responsibilities - to conceptualise and build software that makes use of the latest digital technologies to deliver rich, dynamic online experiences - to deliver on time and within budget for all assigned projects - to follow best practice development, testing and debugging methodologies - to deploy solutions that can scale to a large number of concurrent users - to document all work produced - to use and advocate Ensight products and services across as many initiatives as possible - to identify opportunities for systems and services that can improve existing processes or drive greater results for customers - to design and deploy robust solutions that continue to work for customers over the long term - to analyse performance metrics and improve code where appropriate to deliver a greater end customer experience Essential skills - in-depth and intimate knowledge of all core PHP functions and most common libraries including cURL, CLI, output buffering, image processing and regular expressions - robust knowledge of protocols such as HTTP and FTP, including optimisation techniques - demonstrable knowledge of JSON, SOAP and XML-RPC data formats, and the ability to show data moving between backend (PHP) and frontend (Javascript) using Ajax Desired Skills: MySQL, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, jQuery Keywords: Web Programming, MySQL, PHP, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript
