This position is for the program's Globe Builder. The program is looking for a high potential engineer interested in taking on the highly visible role of building Google Earth Globes. This position is responsible for building the Google Earth globes by working directly with the customer to prioritize and build monthly content updates. Standard Job Description: Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States of America without sponsorship. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Required Skills: One should have System Admin/Engineering capabilities with an interest in the Geospatial field or a background directly in a Geospatial field or familiarity with geospatial applications (Google Earth or ESRI) One should also be familiar with Linux and comfortable writing scripts in Perl and\or bash One should be comfortable working closely with the customer to set priorities and work those priorities within the schedule constraints Should be a self-starter and able to work with limited direction Must be capable of asking questions and seeking help in a timely manner to not sacrifice schedule Desired Skills: Experience with Google Earth Enterprise (including Fusion and Server software) Experience with Geospatial Data Format (including imagery, terrain, and vector types) Experience working with spatial data and common geospatial file formats such as KML and Shapefiles Familiarity with NetApp Storage
