As a Senior Operations Manager, Excellence in Delivery, (EiD) North America with the Standard Operating Framework team, you will be responsible for driving sustainable cultural change and embedding the Standard Operating Framework - Production System (SOF - PS) as the standard way of working across Cobham’s locations. They will do this by leading and supporting multiple SOF - PS transformation projects and a team of SOF - PS Leaders in a variety of business areas and divisions, as well as working closely with Business Leaders to set the strategy and deployment plans for SOF - PS. The role can be based anywhere in the United States. Due to the virtual nature of this role, relocation is not required but availability to travel to our 9 North American Principal locations throughout the East and West and occasional travel to the UK is required. Travel can range from as little as a day on a site to up to 2 weeks and then back at the same site for another 2 weeks after a return trip home. Senior Operations Manager, Excellence in Delivery, Responsibilities: •The Senior Operations Manager, EiD has three key responsibilities and is expected to split their time equally across all of these: oLeadership of multiple SOF - PS transformations - Leading, supporting, developing and coaching SOF - PS leaders and their teams to deliver critical deployment projects to create significant sustainable change in the business oRegular and active engagement of Senior Stakeholders to drive cultural change across the business oDevelopment of future strategic plans and frameworks with Business Leaders/Directors and with SOF Central SOF Team •The EID Ops Manager needs to demonstrate strong leadership and is responsible for leading transformational change within a complex business environment. As a result, this role requires significant interaction with various business leaders on a regular basis. At times, the EiD Senior Operations Manager will also be asked to represent the SOF - PS program at Executive and Management Committee meetings. •Leadership of multiple SOF - PS transformations - Leading, supporting, developing and coaching SOF - PS leaders and their teams to deliver critical deployment projects to create significant sustainable change in the business. •Accountable for the delivery of multiple projects and associated resources utilizing the EiD SOF model and approach, within specified timescales – usually 16 weeks •Regular and active engagement of Senior Stakeholders to drive cultural change across the business •Create a culture of continuous improvement where staff are engaged and empowered to improve all elements of their working environment •Work with business leaders to communicate/garner support to ensure sustainable changes in the business, including the successful transition to operational ownership •Develop future strategic plans and frameworks with Business Leaders/Directors and with SOF - PS program to ensure alignment of SOF - PS ways of working and sustainability of changes already delivered •Work with Senior Stakeholders to support strategic planning activity and ensure that SOF - PS is included as a key enabler of driving business change •Responsible for taking an active role in supporting the development of SOF – PS and SOF – Strategic Supply Chain strategy and input into sustainability and continuous improvement approach •KPIs – Successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that 13 core operational KPI’s is met through 2013 for Cobham’s Principle US locations: oSafety, Health and Environment oDelivery oQuality oCost oResponsiveness Senior Operations Manager, Excellence in Delivery, North America Requirements: •Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Masters degree a plus. •Minimum 5 years leadership experience in business transformation, business process re-engineering or delivering continuous improvement operations/lean manufacturing background or industrial engineering change programs as a Sr. Project or Program Manager, Operations or Quality Manager/Director or Engineer in change management in a fast paced complex environment or at a top level consultancy delivering change. •5+ years’ business consulting experience (either internal or external) in a low volume high mix industry. •Must have proven track record of applying lean principles and delivering significant change, process redesign and improvement. •Previous experience in Operations management and people management managing multiple, large scale projects using a mix of internal and external resources required with previous experience training and coaching at senior management level and above. •Ability to support multiple waves of change activity across the principle locations, as required, which could result in being away from home 3/4 nights per week, role will require travel throughout the US both East and West Coasts as well as occasional travel to the UK. The role can be based anywhere in the United States. Due to the virtual nature of this role, relocation is not required but availability to travel to our 14 Principal locations throughout the West and East Coast and occasional travel to the UK is required. Travel can range from as little as a day on a site to up to 2 weeks and then back at the same site for another 2 weeks after a return trip home. •US Citizenship required due to ITAR regulations. Senior Operations Manager, Excellence in Delivery, North America Preferred Qualifications: •Experience in aerospace and defense industry is preferred. •Breakthrough thinking and world class SOF - PS expertise. •Strong communication skills with a track record of Presentations and engagement of senior stakeholders and ability to influence and operate at all levels. •Demonstrated experience of developing strong working relationships at executive level. •Gravitas/ability to quickly win license to operate. •Proven networking skills that enable change. •Flexible approach to work with the ability to accept and champion change. •Ability to work to tight deadlines and to prioritize a large number of conflicting and frequently changing priorities. •Demonstrated program management skills. •Demonstrated commitment to personal and people development.
