Boutique sun protection clothing company located in North East LA, is looking for two talented, Public Relations Interns who will join our team and make an immediate positive contribution. Last year our products appeared on Good Morning America, were reviewed in Triathlete magazine & are being worn by Grammy and Oscar winners. Now it's time to organize our 2012 PR/media campaign Looking for someone to service both our traditional press as well as social media and social networking needs. We are looking for talented people who are enthusiastic about learning the ins and outs of PR. Strong writing and people skills are important. Interns should also be computer savvy and very comfortable with Microsoft Office, Photoshop and Wordpress would be helpful. Intern candidates must have good communication/people skills, strong writing skills, be comfortable speaking on the phone, creativity, and have a genuine interest in public relations. Recent graduates (with a degree in PR, communications or marketing) or current students studying PR, journalism, marketing, or communications are preferred. Traditional media calendars run up to 6 months in advance to forward planning is essential. Tasks include: � Monitoring Editorial calendars � Writing/editing press releases � Sending press releases/contacting editors � Maintain events calendar/contacting media re events � Assisting with PR for new product launches � Posting blog updates and PR/news updates to the various websites. � Posting events to Facebook. � Sending e-mail blasts (mailchimp). � Creating link-backs on related blogs and Twitter accounts. � Respond to questions and comments on Facebook and Twitter. � Tagging and categorizing photos. � Uploading photos and videos to Youtube, Facebook and Vimeo. � Assist in writing press releases and pitches � Assembling virtual press kits � Research Please be aware that although this position can mostly be completed virtually we will meet occasionally and punctuality and communication are VERY important Must keep detailed records and generate weekly reports for work performed.
