Port Mac App Store game to iOS (iPad)
We have a Windows/Mac game First Class Flurry ( /games/first-class-flurry) which is already on the Mac App Store. We need some help porting it to iPad. You would be responsible for taking our complete XCode project and C++ source code/graphics and converting it into an App Store ready iPad App. The game's graphics are 800x600, so they will likely need to be scaled to 1024x768 for iPad. (same aspect ratio) The game uses our own C++ cross platform library which supports Mac/Windows/iOS. As it already compiles for Mac, it will most likely readily compile for iOS. We have released 3 games (including UltraDeep reaching #7 Top Free Apps US and Zombie Escape reaching #30 Top Paid Apps US) using this library, so it should not be a problem. ------------------------------------------ Added 6 MAR 2012, 11:38 AM EST UPDATE: In preparation for selecting a proposal and handover of the project source, I went ahead and made the modifications required for the game to run on iPad. Since our library already supports iPhone it didn't require too many changes. Now the game runs on iPad (which is the easy part), but we still need help to do the following: 1. Fix memory usage Currently the game crashes after playing a few levels. This is due to the game being originally designed for PC, thus it uses too much memory. This needs to be fixed by: - Reducing the animation frames for characters (= edit image files and image descriptor text files) - Use our tool to merge images into sprite sheets (atlas) - Also, some images should be pre-loaded for better performance (= need to re-organize assets folder) Final result should be that the game is playable from start to finish on actual device without any crashes. 2. Adjust for gameplay on iPad - Fix problem where taps on items sometimes don't register because of small tap area. (One way to fix is when 'on touch up' is outside original area but not too far away, still count it as a 'click'.) - Add 'cancel queue' button to the game ui. (Basically does what a right click did in the PC version) 3. Fix Glitches - 9-slice scaling graphical glitch - Some clipping problems - Game stuttering for some reason when level ends 4. Fix sound - I disabled sound fx and music, this needs to be fixed. Desired Skills: iOS, C++ Keywords: Mobile Applications, C++, iOS
