Script to Merge Multiple XML Files
We are in need of a perl script that will take multiple xml files with different column headers but with one common column in between and create one file that combines all the data. This combined XML file will therefore have all the column headers of all the component xml files. The order of the column headers is customizable from a prompt from the program will have three options:1) order in which the files are merged 2)sort 3) reverse sort. The common column is by default the leftmost column. In the attached example, therefore, the header columns will be field1-field16, and the common columns will be field1 in xmlfile1.xml and field 9 in xmlfile2.xml. In this case there are only two files but the script should prompt the user for all xml files to be merged to be entered in the format file1.xml, file2.xml,file3.xml, etc. Please contact us if you have additional questions.
