The job is to design software to import simple ASCII-files of specific formats into a database. We are looking for a utility tool what can be customized if needed. Summary: - ASCII source files of different formats, customizable tool - Files need to be imported into a database (MS SQL). Possible interface: XML/Direct Database update/other Integration . - Multiple files. This can be solved by having all files to be imported in one folder. - Reporting of uploaded files and their status , Indicative measure to number of records imported/errors/failures (A list should be shown where all uploaded files are listed and get e.g. a green light in the same line.) - the user can choose specific files to import and a automatic option should be available. - more ASCII file formats and others will be added over time - Modern looking user interface - This application can be part of a SQL database or a separate desktop application for Windows 7/XP/vista/2000/NT (if possible). We think using any kind of 'C' would be reasonable Further specific requirements can be provided on request after we agree on this basic job frame.
