Job Description We're seeking an experienced Ruby on Rails developer who is comfortable doing backend and frontend work. Ideally you are familiar with open source software, as we will be using an open source platform, Catarse (https://github.com/danielweinmann/catarse) as our base for the site. You will also need to be familiar with payment gateways, specifically Paypal and their API. Experience with adaptive or parallel payments is desirable. See www.catarse.me for a live, functional version of the platform. We will be deploying at www.wethetrees.com - see our current production environment there. Note that the site we are creating is a crowdfunding portal for permaculture and environmentally-related projects. This is only Phase 1 of a 3 Phase development operation. The second phase involves a massive overhaul of the Catarse platform (new AI, lots of new functionalities). If we like working with you on Phase 1, then consider Phase 2 your next job! We want to: - change the design to fit our brand (we have a designer who is proficient in CSS) - replace the copy with our own (we will provide copy on a page-by-page basis) - include two additional pages (purely content, no additional functionality) - change some of the links and elements in the header and footer - use the Paypal API to create and insert a new adaptive/parallel payments gateway in place of the current payments system being used (this may require changing some of the related pages as well, to indicate that Paypal is being used) I believe that this will be a very simple and straightforward job.
