Freelance Travel Writer for speciality travel websites. See VRIA.org, SunspotResorts.com, VacationRentalCentral.com and more. Write weekly columns, researched articles, press releases, edit user submitted content and more. Become an expert in the Inn, Resort and Vacation Rental industry. Could be a little travel every now and then if you can dream it up and we can sell it. First position is to act as Editor of and to oversee our content. Our new notification system will automatically distribute content to subscribers so there are also duties similar to forum moderator. Second position is to write promotional articles, release and content for Sunspot Inns, Resorts & Vacation Rentals. You need to be positive, fun writer with interesting twists and an apparently personality. A great deal of output is required so you need to write fast and fabulous and furious. Not everyone can push out lots of great text with an interesting voice. But if you can we need you. These are permanent but part-time positions. We need a certain amount of work each and every week and on deadline without fail. We retain copyright to all materials created and authors are not to spin (rewrite) articles for use elsewhere. We pay on a per-piece basis such a newsletter weekly, then knowledge base articles (1-3 paragraphs), and news release. Overtime the writing might turn into full time work if you want it. And yes all of this work can be done remotely and from most any location although U.S. is preferred. We have a very limited budget but pay can go up quickly when great content produces more memberships. (We used to have more but lost our editor to illness). We're anxious to ramp back up. Let me know your rock bottom hourly rate and I promise to reward you nicely if you are as good as we want you to be. Initial jobs for are as follows. We provide list of topics and you can create your own as your knowledge of the industry grows. You can work several weeks in advance. We pay weekly as they are published: WEEKLY NEWSLETTER: 1,000-2,000 words, single topic per week. 1-5 phone or email interviews, then write how-to type articles. Must be interesting, engaging and stimulate readers to respond. KNOWLEDGE BASE: Short 1 to 5 paragraph tips, techniques and tricks. Catchy headlines. Sometime possible to create several, by re-writing out of the newsletter articles. Need 3 per week. FORUM SUBMISSIONS: Short 1 to 5 paragraphs to start topics on the website. Generally inquisitive in nature such as stating a topic, then asking others to respond. FORUM FOLLOW UPS: Answering back to other posters on Forums you previously submitted.Usually 1 to 5 paragraphs. PRESS RELEASE: For VRIA, Sunspots or our other entities. We provide topic. Usually 500-750 words. Sometimes one or two phone inquiries, condensing quotes. Sometimes short notice on these topics. WEB CONTENT: May need short introductions about destinations, resorts or other content for websites. These will be on an as needed basis. Usually short 200 to 500 words, using bullets and conventional website readability techniques. To apply, provide resume, samples and your bid for price per article for the types notes above. (Not sure how well this fits with how you can respond in Elance. If you are only able to give one price, then indicate the price per Newsletter.) Please give us your best price.
