Bookcrossing.com clone
I am looking for someone to create a site like bookcrossing.com. However, rather than just books, I want it to be able to track all sorts of items. I would need to be able to create forms for each item type. It should integrate with facebook so when people catch/release an item it's published to their FB feed. If possible, I'd also like a google maps integration to show a map of the activity for each item. Ideally I'd like it to be built using an existing CMS (Joomla, Drupal, WP, etc.) rather than custom to save time/effort/bugs. If you need more detailed questions to provide a quote please ask them and I will provide anything you need. Please make sure to spend some time on the site looking at the functionality which includes full profiles, locations, tagging, etc. Also keep in mind the back-end stuff like notifying people when an item that they released is caught by someone else. Thanks! Additional Info (Added 2/6/2012 at 11:32 EST)... Based on some questions that I've received I am providing additional details. Please updated your bids accordingly and ask if you need further information. Thanks! First, I STRONGLY PREFER to pay via escrow so if you're not willing to do that, please let me know. Here is a more detailed description of what I'm looking for. Bookcrossing.com tracks only books. I need a site with similar functionality that will track multiple types of items (currency, books, custom items, etc.). Because there will be multiple types of items that people can list, each will need a different submission form. I need to be able to make those submission forms myself on the back-end so I can easily add new types of items and when someone wants to add a new item to the site they can just choose the type from the drop-down box. The site needs to be fully searchable. When an item is added, a number needs to be assigned to it that the user can see so they can write it on the item and people will use either that number or the search function to report it found. I want full integration with facebook so people can share the items they've released/found on their facebook profile to help spread the word. I want google maps integration so that when you look at an individual item page (ex: http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/10372429/) at the bottom will be a map of the places that item has been. **Ideally I'd like to also show a master map with all of the items that have been caught/released within the last x days so people can zoom into their area and see what's going on and click on a caught/release note to get to that listing page. All fields like item type, release location, user city, state, country, etc, need to be linked so you can see all the items/users with that information (ex: http://www.bookcrossing.com/membersbycity/22461/) Users should be able to like/follow other users, locations, item categories so they get updates on new activities. There should be an activity feed on the front page showing the most recent items that are caught/released. The standard social-sharing buttons should appear on each page. There should be a summary of how many items have been released and where (ex: http://www.bookcrossing.com/hunt) **I would like people to be able to upload pictures to an item and have them displayed on the item page. Here is what I need or do not need from the current bookcrossing site: Information - I need an information section but I'll add my own content so I'll need the ability to easily add a new page to this section. Store - I do not need any of the store components/information Community - At this time, I only need the forum aspect of the community. It should be fully integrated with shared user names, etc. Books and People - I want ALL of this functionality though we'll use different language as it is not only tracking books. Note, items with a ** are desired but optional, depending on price. Additional Info (Added 2/6/2012 at 12:46 EST)... Ok, as I've been receiving a lot of questions about monetization and databases I wanted to add more clarification. The site will not be monetized at this point so there will be no store, not payment gateway, no amazon ads, etc. You will not need to use the amazon API or anything like that to draw data from another database. The site database will be built by the users as they add items. It will not be pre-populated but existing data because there is no existing data. The only data that will be pre-populated on the site are countries and main cities. The rest will be added as users register and add information. Regarding me being able to create forms, during development we will identify and create the basic form fields needed to cover all of the different item types. Then, when I need to add a new form, I will just use the pre-defined form fields. It should not require additional programming to add a new form. Please keep the questions coming and I will continue to add information here when I see trends in the questions. Thanks!
