MSSQL (export) to EXCHANGE (import) Data Push
Overview: I need an application (either CLI or GUI) that will read data from an MSSQL server (via a view) and push/import that data into a MS EXCHANGE server. The program needs to be built using the most direct and efficient method possible, utilizing no or little outside apps or plug-ins. Functionality: The application can interface (read) with SQL as a client either using named pipes, ODBC, or a TCP/IP 1433 connection. The application should interface (write) to Exchange through a Microsoft supported method like ADO, MAPI, etc. see: /en-us/library/ms876253.aspx Preferably a method that does not requrie outlook to be installed. The application may be installed directly in the Exchange Server if needed, or stand-alone. The current versions are MSSQL 2000 and Exchange 2003 Theory: The application will read a list of "contact information" from an sql view and populate this into a new "contact items" folder in a personal mailbox. (You will determine the design of the view, and I will populate that data. You will need to provide me a list of column names and fields that can be imported into exchange as contact information.) This is a one-way push of data, not bi-directional (SQL is the source, EXCHANGE is the destination). This application will need to be a windows "service" that will execute frequently. On startup and prior to populating the data, the application will need to determine if the contact already exists (avoid duplicates) or has been modified (stale data). The application needs to keep the EXCHANGE data current if any SQL modifications have been made. The application should have a setup menu that allows the admin to set the: SQL server source (IP address / port) SQL authentication (username/password) SQL view (data source) EXCHANGE server destination (IP address) EXCHANGE authentication if needed (username/password) EXCHANGE store (database store) EXCHANGE user/folder destination (destination of contact information) Frequency at which the application will execute the fetch and populate routine. Bid Details: If you submit a bid on this project, please provide: 1. Your theory of operation, ie. connectivity methods into SQL and EXCHANGE (programming techniques) 2. Your level of experience with MSSQL in developing applications that read/write to it. 3. Your level of experience with EXCHANGE in developing applications that read/write to it (using ADO, MAPI, etc.) 4. The programming language in which the application will be built. Desired Skills: SQL Server, .NET, ADO.NET Keywords: Software Application, SQL, ADO.NET, .NET, Server
