Visit Amazon.com, and you'll see many inept book jackets, with fussy layouts and tiny "creative" fonts that are illegible at a distance. Have you designed posters before? Can you make a finished .jpg file that's legible from thumbnail reproductions on up? Individuals only, please! No studios, collectives, or committees. I have the detailed design for a poster to appear on a website. I need it worked up as a .jpg file, with the following specs: *Proportion: Height 1.5 times the width. *Three colors: Blue, red, and black, plus drop-out white. *Display type: A) Serif font that resembles a 17th- or 18th-century type, B) Modern sans-serif font (all caps, like the STOP letters stenciled on crosswalks), stamped over the "old" type. Ideally, small tears or gaps should let more of the "old" type show through, and C) Times Roman italics for the centered copy. *Graphics: Line cuts of birds' wings in profile. I have one as a line cut, ready to go, plus a color photo that must be reduced to B&W or solarized to be printed as a line cut in one color. Again, the design is ready. You need only work it up with fonts and colors, but should be ready to make revisions and adjustments for the best impact. (In Mark Twain's analogy, we want the lightning, not the lightning bug.)
