SharePoint 2010 Documents and libraries - Microsoft Sharepoint
Hi, I've used sharepoint for awhile but always handle the backend like installation and management. I have a fare understanding with the frontend. But I need some help with document folders and webparts. First: I have a client that has folders from the 50 states in a Document library. Files are dumped into these folders from a scanning software eveyday. What I need to do is allow the users to go into the folders, open the document (PDF's) look at it and edit the properties. However, these users need the fewest clicks to do it because they are very novice. What I need is to be able to open the document and have the properties open at the same time. Right now they have to open the PDF document, look at it and determine who it belongs to, then close the document, then open the "Edit Properties" link, then edit the document properies. That is just too much for them to do espescially if there are 20 documents do edit. Is there a way to open the document and the proeprties side by side at the same time? Second: In the docuemnt library, is there a way to have a webpart or view or link of other documents in other libraries that I would like to associate with that folder whare the documents are? I tried to add a document library webpart but it was added to all of the folders. Is there a better way to do this?
