PHP developer for cool wellness startup in SF
We're an early-stage running wellness startup creating a great platform for runners with the best tools and apps. We are associated with the top names in wellness! We're looking for a self-starting, fast and talented PHP/MYSQL developer as a full-time hire or contract-to-hire to support and redesign/redevelop a web application currently live in production and expanding signficantly in scale and scope. 3+ years experience desired with PHP, web, UI, API and/or social media programming experience. We offer salary, equity and benefits. MUST BE IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA. Office in SF for weekly meetings. Runners greatly preferred with marathon experience or desire helpful. Please, no outsourcing or headhunting firms, including those in India/China at this time. Job Description: Your responsibilities: - Design and develop nextgen web app with plug-in features and extensible DB - Prototype/wireframe new versions of web application from SME and runner perspectives - Review business requirements working with other team members, perform tech analysis of reqmts and create a solid, detailed technical design - Write clean, modular, robust code to deliver requirements with little or no supervision, within agreed-upon yet aggressive timeframes - QA/Support to triage, fix bugs and deploy to production with rapid turnaround - Contribute ideas for making the app better and easier to use Your qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in IT, information systems, computer science or tech field - Current Programming language(s): PHP 5, MySQL - Environment: CodeIgniter, Zend or later - Additional skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, LAMP stack familiarity, Apache, iPhone/Android integration - Strong communication skills and attention to detail - 3+ years experience building or supporting consumer-facing web apps/ databases across browsers - Experience with Amazon hosting a bonus - Solid understanding of object-oriented design, coding and testing patterns - Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies/frameworks to scale and integrate web services - Previous start-up experience a bonus - References or an established reputation on Elance preferred Desired Skills: MySQL, CSS, PHP, Apache, CodeIgniter Keywords: Web Programming, Apache, MySQL, CodeIgniter, PHP, CSS
