Project Description This project will consist of designing building a promotional and e-commerce website for a multimedia device similar to the Roku. Website should be similar to Roku(dot)com. The design phase will include design of the logo and brand identity as well as the website�s look and feel. The website will be built using a CMS system that will allow the website administrator to make simple updates with no knowledge of website coding languages. The e-commerce system will not use the standard product catalogue layout, but will instead have one products page that shows a comparison of 3-4 products in a table layout, with �Add to Cart� buttons�. The site will initially be launched in English only, but the CMS will be capable of supporting multiple languages so that they can be added at a later date. Goals of the Project a. Develop an attractive and professional brand and website design. b. Build the website using a CMS that will allow the client to edit the sites himself. c. Search engine optimize the site using design best practice and keyword placement. The website will include the following features: Content Publishing Add, edit and remove pages or other content from the site, and manage navigation menus. What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) Editor Non-experts can easily edit website content with rich text styles, formatting and media management. Including Facebook and Twiter. E-Commerce The website will include a product manager, shopping cart, and online checkout and payment system. Email Newsletter The site will include an email newsletter system. Users will be able to subscribe their email, and will receive newsletters by email. Newsletters are created directly within the website�s CMS and are automatically mailed out to all subscribers. FAQs The site will include an FAQs manager that will allow administrators to easily publish questions and answers to an FAQ page. Search Engine Optimization The site will include several SEO features including automatic submission of the sitemap to search engines, META tag generation and customization of header tags. Google Analytics Measuring traffic and improving the website�s user experience is made easy with Google�s excellent free stats tracking interface. Slideshow (content slider) The home page of the website will include a slideshow that will cycle through a series of images. These images will display the product, sell it�s key features and make the home page more dynamic. Product Reviews The website will include a reviews page. At this time, reviews cannot be posted by public users, only website admins will be able to post reviews. They will not include a fivestar rating system at this time. Contact Form The contact page will include a contact form that allows clients to send comments or questions directly through the website. Submissions are saved in the database and sent to an email distribution list. Languages The website will be published in English. It will be possible to add additional languages in future.
