Research Project in Entrepreneurship Space
Job Description See attached document to be used as the outline for your team to fill out. Keep in mind, this project MUST be completed by February 20th, 2012 at 11am EST. Do NOT bid if you cannot fully complete this project by that deadline. Thank you! The “category” tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet are each entrepreneurship-focused categories, which are: - Education - Media - Mailing List/Newsletters - Community/Forum - Interviews - Funding/Sponsorship Platforms - Data analytics companies/platforms - Misc - Non-profits There are 13 columns in each category and each has a notation under its heading to explain the type of information we are seeking. If there are any questions on what these explanations mean, please contact me asap. For each category, we seek 15 assets for each of the 5 “Stage Focus” - for a total of 75 assets from each country. The “stage focus” revenue figures can be broken down as: - Idea: $0 in revenue, extremely early-stage focus - Startup: Below $1 million in revenue - Early-stage: $1 million to $10 million in revenue - Growth: $10 million to $25 million in revenue - Late: $25 million in revenue and above There are 15 countries we are looking to have researched for each “category” and at each “stage focus”, for a total of 1,125 assets in each category. The 15 countries to research (and the order in which we would like them to be shown in the spreadsheet) are: - United States of America (USA) - Canada - United Kingdom (UK) - Brazil - Australia - Korea - South Africa - Chile - Greece - Japan - Hong Kong + China - United Arab Emirates (UAE) - Switzerland - Israel - Finland NOTE: at least 10 out of the 15 countries will NOT have 15 assets x 5 stages of entries to research.....at most they will have 2 assets x 5 stages. The USA, Canada and maybe one other country are the only ones in the world that are mature enough to actually fill out to that degree. If find this to be true, then rededicate resources back to USA, Canada, etc since research in all those other countries will be relatively easy. This should cut time for project down by about 40%. Keywords for your team to search to obtain necessary information will be provided to you upon awarding the project. The google and yahoo! Directories can also be helpful in identifying assets. A tool that will be helpful (and which you should download) for understanding the reach of the assets in terms of web traffic (column G) is here: http://tools.seobook.com/seo-toolbar Hierarchy of information: the columns of information are broken down by priority so you can train your team to what is essential for the project and must be found as well as what is simply ‘nice to have’ and not the main priority. MUST HAVE (these columns must be filled in): Columns A, B, C, D, E, F, G, J, K, L, N NICE TO HAVE (these columns are secondary): H, I, M, O To begin: to manage expectations for the project, lets start with a screen record to see the steps involved and how long the project will potentially take. Upon winning the bid, lets perform a test with your team to ensure timeline and expectations. For the first day, have your team focus on a test of 5 assets for just the USA for each tab. So that would be USA (1 country) x 5 assets x 5 stages each (idea, startup, early, growth, late) x 10 = 250 entries. This test being completed will ensure you are correct on timeline and expectations as well as help your team in the project training as well as streamline the research. This way you don’t waste time and $$$ on tasks that are not important. Entry time: initial estimates is about 5 minutes per entry. Do not have a person spend more than 20 minutes per entry. You will need a minimum of 3 research associates for the duration of the project to complete this amount of work. Staging the project: once each country has all of its “category” tabs completed, please send an updated version of the spreadsheet for review so that we can respond with our comments for clarification and ensuring quality. Bidder with the highest feedback score and lowest price will be awarded the contract immediately. This project MUST be completed by February 20th, 2012 at 11am EST.
