WordPress Theme Forum/Email Support - PHP Knowledge Required
Job Description We are a commercial WordPress theme company, looking to hire an additional member to our support staff. You must have a detailed knowledge of WordPress, with some knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, mySQL, javascript, and jQuery. You will provide support to theme customers via our support forum as well as through email. Some key points we are looking for are: - Customer Service - Good Note Keeping - Troubleshooting - Debugging Theme or WordPress Issues - Solving Server/Hosting Problems - EXCELLENT Communication Support questions run from the very simple to more complex. We need someone who can handle both ends well. Your notes regarding bugs and customer experiences will be used for updates to the themes, so this is also important. As a side note, many customers request paid custom modifications to be made to themes, if this is something you can do, we will share the profits of these jobs with you in addition to your support salary. This is an important feature we are looking for you to be able to perform. Proper communication with customers throughout each support issue is very important This job will be ongoing and wage increases may be negotiated from time to time. The starting pay may be lower until you establish a good track record. Support Volume is around 20-30 support tickets/forum posts per day, which generally takes from 1-2 hours. We offer support throughout each day currently as tickets come in. We would probably ask you to be available for support from 9-5 EST although there will likely not be tickets to handle all day. A support agent will provide support using our XenForo forum and email tickets through Gmail as well as recording common customer issues and bugs for future development. We do not provide phone support. A support individual would need enough knowledge to solve problems with PHP, CSS HTML and the like, but would not be doing any programming. Programming would be done when customers request theme modifications and they would be charged according to whatever rates you commonly charge. We are looking for per instance based pricing e.g. compensation on per ticket resolved basis though we are open to consider any alternate pricing method as long as it makes sense. We are looking to build long term relationship and thus seeking only serious providers.
