Ensunet seeki ng a Network & Systems Administrator who is looking for a career growth opportunity. The candidate would provide service for an established publicly held Biotechnology Company and will be responsible for executing all as pects of network administration for a medium sized network with 200 nodes and 60+ servers . The candidate would gain exposure to an Enterprise class Infrastructure built with EMC Storage, VMware, Cisco VOIP/LAN/WAN/Security, Commvault , Microsoft Server products suite, HP Blade Technology as well as a brand new data center build out . Job Functions : · Administer the Network - Guarantees proper network system function by maintaining, modifying and customizing network operating syste ms, components and upgrading network operation systems and network application software. Maintains and administers network user accounts and network security systems. Assists users with specific network problems. Assists with PC and UNIX network connectivity. Provides support for Internet, VPN for remote users. Performs backup and restore of all network servers and storage systems per the IT Backup Policy · Administer the Phone System - Provides support for the phone system. Provides moves, adds and changes to individual phones as needed. Supports all telecommunications issues for end-users including phones, voicemail, email integration, fax integration, conference calls and training. Provides infrastructure support including carrier-level connecti ons and main equipment monitoring. · Build the network - Plans, installs and implements new network applications as approved by IT Management. Participates in new systems development. Recommends network specific platforms and architecture changes to meet the company’s objectives. Works as part of a team to develop systems that support R&D application requirements including storage and backup of terabytes of data. · Monitor the network - Monitors performance of all network systems. Tunes systems for optimum operation. Ensures adequate network performance for all applications. Responds to network monitoring alerts 24x7 or as agreed to in a coverage plan. While providing after hours support, uses VPN connectivity to attempt repair using remote management tools. If resolution cannot be made remotely, on-site services are required. · Document Network & Train Users - Recommends and establishes written policies and general user documentation for software and hardware operation and use. Performs end-user training via written documentation, one-on-one sessions and group meetings on new and existing systems and software installed. Works to publish self-help guides for end-users and technical guides for IT and posts them on the corporate intranet. · Perform Network Upgrades at Appropriate times - Is available for network upgrades at non-standard work hours. The company relies heavily on the network for running the business. Network operations that require systems to be down must be scheduled for after core business hours. · Evaluate New Technologies - Review and develop new technologies that relate to the IT Strategy. Install, test and prepare written and visual systems evaluations. Demonstrate new systems to the IT group and key end-users. Develop project specifications and implementation plans. Test out new software revisions prior to implementation. Be forward looking and anticipate needs across department lines. Skills/Qualifications: · 5 years hands on experience supporting Microsoft products and technologies. Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows 2003/2008, WSUS, SQL Server, Exchange 2007/2010, printer queues , WinXP , network monitoring platforms. · Must have proven experience with layer1, layer2 , and layer 3 Ethernet networking concepts. · 2+ years or p revious experience with Win dows 7 , VMware Virtuali zat ion, Data Backup and Recovery. · General Knowledge or experience with HP DL Class Servers and Blade Technology , Enterprise EMC Storage, NAS , deduplication , Commvault , Brocade SAN , Cisco Voip , Cisco unified messaging, Cisco routers, switches, firewalls , Iphone MDM, 404 compliance audits , Linux Certifications: · MCSE or MCP, Willing to obtain CCNA or VMware certs within one year . 1
