We are solutions partners for the QuoteWerks (QW) sales quotation software tool. QW integrates to salesforce (pulling account and product information from sfdc to create quotes, and writing sales opportunity information back). QW is a fat client windows app which talks to sfdc via the sfdc API. We have a propspect who would like this integration extended to update additional fields on the salesforce opportunity screen (see graphic). We are able to create a vb.net application that will contain all the necessary data. We are looking for somebody to add to this application the code required to connect to sfdc and update the opportunity object. The attached screenshot shows the customer's Opportunity Detail screen, and the highlights are the fields that he needs to be populated. Proposed Project Approach (1) we will create a win32 vb.net application in vs 2005 (2) this app will instantiate an object with properties corresponding to the fields to be populated in sfdc and will set the values of those properties as needed (3) this object will also have properties corresponding to the salesforce oppid (and account / customer id if needed) and we will set these values also. (4) we wish you to write a method for this object that updates sfdc with these field values Hence we anticipate that we will ultimately have sight of the source code that you write. Suggestions of alternative approaches are welcome. This proposal will be accepted subject to acceptance by our own customer of the overall package we are putting together for them.
