Drafting - Drawing Control Our client, a downtown Calgary Oil & Gas company, has an immediate opening for a Drawing Control person to join their Drafting team for a 6 month contract. Responsibilities Include: Understand the company's drawing standard and requirements, expectations, quality and returns; Quality checking of incoming drawings from EPC companies to ensure compliance with standards and requirements set out by the company; Be able to determine and deal with the appropriate steps when guidelines are not being met; Coordinate incoming As-Builts/MOC from the field and ensure drawings are being updated and returned to drawing control; Provide mentorship and guidance when needed; Communicate with EPC companies who require assistance with drawing numbering, standards, title blocks etc. or to be able to communicate problem areas when standards are not being met; Assist in-house and EPC companies in locating drawings; Be the "go to" person for all inquiries, make decisions, and give direction to all departments and EPC's who are seeking expertise with regard to the drawings; Provide assistance for metering drawings in the Production group and Facilities construction. Qualifications Include: A minimum of five years related drafting experience including knowledge of Oil and Gas process' and construction; Proficient in the use of AutoCAD is essential along with some 3D knowledge is required; Proven ability to understand external references, types of drawings within the Oil and Gas Industry (P&ID's, piping, civil, structural, etc.); Ability to determine and handle obsolete drawings and duplications; Strong communication and organization skills; Knowledge of Excel, Word and Corel draw are an asset.
