We are looking for an experienced ColdFusion developer to assist in coding a system to allow us to manage the workflow involved in creating articles and publishing articles on the web. Essentially it is a back-end system that coordinates the flow of work. The task is more about managing the flow of work, putting articles through drafts, edits, revisions and publication, tracking the flow of work. The actual publication piece is not being automated at this time. We've designed the databases, main menus and are laying out screens. We need someone to take over the back end coding for us - we've got a few projects going and need someone to run with this task. Initially we will give you simpler components to work on and if the work quality is what we need, we will continue through with the project. Development will be done on our servers. You need to do both the coding and create an interface that is visually appealing. Our last coder turned in something that looked like a poor version of DOS. We're not looking for a graphic artist, but we do need someone with a good eye for user interfaces. You will be using CFC's and AJAX where appropriate. CFGRID, etc., can be fine, as long as HTML versions - no flash. Tasks include: * CRUD on basic tables: company, contact, vendors, etc. * Creating workflow projects templates that can be "rubber stamped" out - creating a series of tasks against a given project. * Creation of an article topic and keywords and notes, and then writers can post multiple versions of drafts, editors can edit, rewriters can do rewrites, etc. There are about 5-6 types of steps, each can have multiple iterations, and we need to track them all. We have 2 tables for this - Articles - which is the main record - 1 per article, and "Work" - and there are many Work records to each article. Each draft, edit, revision is a new "Work" record, pointing back to the original article. This way, we can have infinite revisions, etc. We will have security on the system. We already have the concepts in place, we will need session based logins implemented. Users can only see records for "their" company, and an ID field is already in place for all records to filter for this (in all queries we add: where .... and CompanyID = #session.CompanyID#) What you need to apply: Bachelor's Degree in the information technology area Strong written and spoken English Proficiency with ColdFusion 8 SQL Server experience HTML, CSS AJAX Preferred Qualifications BS in computer science, information systems or comparable technical degree A minimum of 3 years of IT experience with at least one year of Cold Fusion experience This project is not a 3-5 hour project. As we give you more pieces, it will continue to grow. Also, once complete, we anticipate adding new features and will look to continue/bring you back for those modules.
