hi there i want the search results to be tweaked slightly currently it looks in products_name and products_description and a few other fields like products_address and products_postcodedistrict oscommerce by default displays the results in alphabetical order ************************************************************************************** i want this to be tweaked to allow me greater control over the order of search results. in particular i want it to give more importance to products_postcodeletter so e.g suppose i enter nw1 or nw1 5rj then it will display all results in alphabetical order by default however the top results may not be located physically in nw1 so for better results the code should find all the ones where the products_postcodeletter = nw1 and put these at the top first then it should sort the remaining items accordingly. this is a start and i want to tweak it further but if you can get it to do this just now id be nore than happy *********************************************************************************** NEW IDEAS ************************************************************************************ im hoping to add more functions like - show only products in my postcode e.g only in nw1 - sort by distance, we will need to program a distance function using php and mysql - sort by average rating (i currently have this in the database but no sorting function) - sort by number of reviews (no of reviews is already there but no sorting) the last 2 sorting fucntions will sort highest rating/number of reviews etc first the choices will be presented to the user in a drop down anyway these are future ideas for now just do the bit between the asterisks ------------------------------------------ Added 7 FEB 2012, 16:06 PM EST DONT ASK FOR FTP OR ADMIN OR SQL AS I DONT I GIVE IT ITS A SIMPLE FIX AND I CAN TEST IT AS U CODE IT OR U TEST ON UR SERVER Desired Skills: MySQL, osCommerce, PHP Keywords: Web Programming, MySQL, PHP, osCommerce
