We are looking to hire multiple contractors in Switzerland to collect audio recordings of native German speakers originally from Switzerland to support the development of speech recognition software. You will use your computer and USB headset to collect the recordings from the speakers. Compensation will be $1,325 for 30 recordings collected from unique speakers. Each recording session will be 30 minutes and will be paid according to the following schedule: - Sessions 1-5 ? $35 per session completed - Sessions 6-10 ? $40 per session completed - Sessions 11-20 ? $45 per session completed - Sessions 21-30 ? $50 per session completed You will be required to record audio from at least 5 different native speakers each week (up to a maximum of 30 recordings for the project). You will be paid on a weekly basis based on the number of unique recording sessions completed. E.g. If you complete 5 sessions you will be paid $175 (5*$35). If you complete 10 sessions, payment will be $375 ($35*5 + $40*5). If you complete 20 sessions, payment will be $825 ($35*5+$40*5+$45*10). If you complete all 30 sessions, payment will be $1325 ($35*5+$40*5+$45*10+$50*10). Payment to speakers is determined by you and is not required. Your Responsibilities: ? Recruit unique/different native speakers of German who are originally from Switzerland to participate in the project. Fifty percent of the speakers recruited must be male, while the other 50% must be female. ? Record audio samples (one sample from each speaker) via an online application that we will specify and a USB-headset connected to a PC or laptop. Contractors must engage each speaker for approximately 30 minutes, during which he/she will read a series of scripts presented within the application in to the headset. Requirements: ? Access to Laptop or PC ? Windows 7, Vista, or XP. Windows 7 is strongly preferred. ? IE Browser, preferably IE9 ? USB headset to record speakers. If necessary, we can provide USB headsets. ? Contractors must be located in Switzerland. **In your proposal, please include the following: ? Confirmation that you have access to IE9 ? OS you plan to use ? Whether or not you have access to a USB headset. If not, we will provide you with a headset. If you do have one, please let us know which model/brand you plan to use.
