*This position is for an 8 week assignment with the possibility of another 8 weeks. This DVT Engineer is a project-contracted position, which requires a minimum of 3.5 yrs. experience in telecommunications network element testing. Prior experience should demonstrate specialized knowledge within the network engineering field. Experience with setting up user interfaces using Broadsoft and MetaSwitch with VoIP protocols such as SIP is required. Experience with L2/L3 network devices (routers, switches) and their functionality, configuration, command line interface (CLI), and protocols (TCP/IP, SNMP, DHCP, etc) is required. Experience in the area of troubleshooting complex systems is required; experience with common industry test equipment (such as Spirent Test Center, Ixia) is preferred. Experience in test automation development, tools(such as iTest) and languages(such as TCL, Perl or Python) is preferred. Familiarity with  ADTRAN TA900, Asterisks, Avaya IP PBX, Cisco Unified Communication Manager Cisco Call Manager  and  software version control tools & practices is preferred.     Job Duties The DVT Engineer will be a member of a team responsible for generating, coordination, implementing, & executing the design verification testing for ADTRAN's Enterprise Network products.  This is a highly skilled senior level position with a broad knowledge base of VoIP protocols and internetworking applications.  This position requires prior experience in the networking industry and in network device testing, as well as excellent troubleshooting skills.  Assignments require engineer to work independently & as part of a team, and interface with other groups. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: *Design, plan, & execute tests on EN products to discover defects in product software as quickly & efficiently as possible while ensuring conformance to specified requirements. *Use the following types of testing as needed for each software release: functional testing, system testing, exploratory testing, regression testing, performance testing & conformance testing. *Analyze & interpret test case results to provide defect information to development engineers. *Work closely with development engineers to resolve defects. *Assist in the administration & accuracy of test plan documentation & the defect database. *Develop/maintain or assist in the development/maintenance of testbeds & automated test cases. *Responsible for ensuring that the testing effort stays focused on detecting defects that are most likely to be discovered in customer applications. *Provide feedback to development engineers to help improve product usability. *Assist in the organization, maintenance, and ongoing build-out of engineering internetworking test labs. *Work closely with other DVT engineers & PQ engineers that will be part of the ADTRAN OS test team. *Other projects or duties as required for the development of innovation & design.
