Collections Specialist
Collections Specialist temp to hire in Rockville, MD Pay rate $16 Job Description: Collections Specialist should have strong background in collections and customer service. Able to define specific goals and objectives and prioritize. This person will be responsible for calling customers with outstanding balances sixty days or greater, with the purpose reducing bad debt, churn and increasing revenue by keeping customer active with firm payment commitment. Collections Specialist will be responsible for follow-ups to customers and well as educating them on billing cycles. Primary Responsibilities: 1)Contact a minimum of 80 customers daily to discuss and confirm payments on outstanding balances. 2)Review, identify and recommend those accounts that are deemed uncollectible and prepare them for collection agency (NCO). 3)Contact customers regarding NSF payments 4)Monthly account maintenance (account interruption, payment arrangements, follow-up calls) 5)Handle and/or coordinate routine account maintenance functions 6)Researching misapplied payments and un-posted payments. 7)Prepare and submit adjustments for customer accounts. 8)Prepare and mail correspondences to customers 9)Other projects/tasks as assigned Education: This position requires a High School Diploma or GED (some college education preferred). Experience: Ideal candidates will demonstrate initiative, team work and provide exceptional customer service strong communication (oral & written) and problem solving skills. Demonstrate patience, diplomacy, composure, good judgment, the ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances and the ability to quickly build rapport with a diverse internal and external customer base. Candidates must be able to work effectively with entry-level through executive-level customers and staff. Professionalism, reliability and the ability to appropriately handle proprietary and highly confidential information is essential. Familiarity with the FCRA and FACTA. Proficiency with PCs and the Internet is a must.
