Translation Project Coordinator
Translation Project Coordinator The Translation Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the translation process of a variety of individual projects in corporate translations for MarketPro’s Client to ensure efficiency, timeliness and that the same quality assurance approach is used across languages. The jobholder works closely with internal translators and with the language leaders as well as with external translators, revisers and subject consultants to ensure sharing of information and ease of communications The Translation Project Coordinator will: * Do all necessary planning to ensure all cost, time and quality targets for assigned projects are met. * Attend planning meetings with corporate/internal clients, agency/external client and advertising/regional & national teams to review the following workshops, training materials, earnings, financial documents, corporate communications, manuals, guides, presentations, signage, promotional materials, flyers, catalogs, etc. Gather information to scope the project, such as: length, purpose, audience and style of the document, links with other material, and information that will assist the translation process, such as: potential reuse of content previously translated, existence of glossaries and translation memories, names of potential consultants and collaborators. * Allocate resources to the project according to the plan of action selected, so all project targets are met. * Regularly liaise with all parties involved to ensure all relevant information about assigned projects is communicated in a timely manner. * Monitor progress of all key stages of the projects to ensure their timely completion and transition to the next stage. This includes checking the status of each step of a project against agreed schedule, sending reminders, asking for confirmation that each step is on track, reporting on potential delays to all affected parties and renegotiating the deadline accordingly. * Receive files and invoices at the end of each stage, process files, check for integrity and repackage them for the next contributor in the chain of production. * Monitor project expenditures to ensure project keeps within the allocated budget. * Evaluate the project after its completion and debrief all key contributors and stake holders in order to inform future projects. * Keep abreast of developments in the field in order to ensure the translation production processes continue to meet the language needs of the IB, and to contribute to the development and improvement of departmental policies and procedures. The jobholder must have: * University degree, preferably in translation or linguistics * Qualification in project management desirable * Sound experience of project management, in particular translation projects * Some experience as a translator * Proven communication skills * Excellent organizational skills * Excellent command of English * Excellent command of Spanish *Bonus if Knowledgeable, as experienced user, of computer assisted translation tools * Fully IT literate * Sensitivity to cultural, language and social differences
