Wanted: College Student for Research and Writing Assistant work, short term. I am a doctoral student doing research in community colleges/higher education and I need a college student, undergrad (preferably junior or senior) or grad, to help with the work. Duties include: make copies, track down books, run internet searches (jstor, lexus, ebsco etc.), collect pdf files, maintain a bibliography (must know APA formatting), quick reviews of journal articles (are they pertinent or not), phone calls to track down resources. The pay would be $10-15 hr, depending on experience. The hours are 5-10 hours per week for 8-12 weeks; some weeks can be up to 20 hours if you want, but some weeks maybe be as little as 5 hours. You work at home or on campus. The hours and days are completely flexible. You should know how to work with pdf files (make a pdf, file the pdfs, store and transport on jump drive etc), how to use the libraries, how to do internet searches on google scholar, jstor, ebsco etc. Ideally, you would: 1. be a 3rd or 4th year student, or grad student with experience research social science topics for your own studies (like an honors thesis, or for your major etc). 2. a decent GPA (or a good reason why it's not good) 3. detail-oriented, fast worker, self-starter, problem-solver 4. strong written and communication skills (need to communicate via email often) 5. friendly, polite, respectful If interested, please reply with the following: 1.
